Services.

Prenatal Care.

Your visits will consist of an initial visit in your own home between 10-12 weeks, followed by visits with your midwife in their office every 4-5 weeks until the third trimester, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and then weekly until the birth of your baby.

What to expect of your prenatal care:

  • Un-rushed visits allowing plenty of time to get to know you, your desires, and your values..

  • Each visit includes an assessment of physical and emotional wellbeing

  • Risk assessments including; blood pressure monitoring, hands-on-belly checks, and listening to baby’s heart tones at every visit.

  • Shared-decision making, informed consent is the cornerstone of your care.

  • All standard laboratory screenings, physical exams, and education.

  • To be heard and respected every step of the way.

Newborn Care.

Routinely, we do 2 visits for baby in your own home, the first at 1 day old and another within the first week postpartum. We recommend that your newborn is seen by your provider of choice within the 1st week of life.

  • Gentle, thorough, “head-to-toe” newborn exam performed by your midwife 1 hour after birth

  • Vitamin K and Erythromycin eye ointment available upon client request

  • Newborn Metabolic Screen, Congenital Heart Defect Screening, and Newborn Hearing Screen performed in your home during the first newborn visit.

  • Your Midwife will file for Birth Certificate and Social Security cards.

Labor + Delivery.

No two births are the same, and yours will be uniquely you. You and your midwife will be in touch when you are in early labor, and will make a plan for her to come to your home.

  • Birth team consisting of 2 licensed midwives

  • Phone support through early labor

  • Midwife support in home from active labor until several hours after birth

  • Regular, unobtrusive monitoring of mother and baby.

  • Encouragement to eat and drink during labor

  • Skin-to-skin and delayed cord clamping are standard of care at every birth.

  • Birth tubs available for labor and water birth
